LearnIn conducted it first run of "LIfeskills for The Digital Economy" with 5 members from the Disabled People Association with a group of amazing young volunteers!
It was a great experience working with the participants across all ages and glad that my greatest takeaway was seeing the elderly participants using their debit cards and flashing their cards to pay for their purchases. Was also happy that a participant successfully created an online banking account and is exploring means to pay for his newspaper vendor via Internet-banking!
Participants also shared their takeaways for the workshop :
"Joe and I both thank you for guiding us along to WhatsApp Web. We are delighted our lives are much improved and we get better connected with our friends!" - A workshop participant.
Thank you for the day today, it has been an enjoyable and meaningful experience for me - A workshop volunteer.
Lastly, here's a reflection of mine to sum up this post :
"We can only be truly a SmartNation only if we move together as a society as a whole. Leaving anyone behind, whom might be a friend-friend, relative or a fellow Singaporean is "unsmart" and derails us from becoming an inclusive society".
To do so, coming up with "Whys" are the first steps one should take but always follow that up with a plan for implementation too! (Any suggestions for something without a concrete plan is just hollow talk and NATO)"
Loving the journey to Learn more, Collaborate more and Do more!
